Xerox 101R00664 Drum Unit
Compatible and remanufactured cartridges are not made or endorsed by the printer manufacturer. What the types mean
Xerox 101R00664 Drum Unit: a drum unit rated for 40,000 pages.
Drums and imaging units wear separately from toner on Brother, Kyocera and some Xerox machines, and a tired drum shows as repeating marks down the page at a fixed spacing rather than as faded print. Each listing says how many pages the drum is rated for and how to tell a drum fault from a toner fault.

A drum fault shows as repeating marks at a fixed spacing down the page, usually every 94 mm on a small drum. Toner faults fade or streak instead. If you are unsure send us a photograph of the page and we will tell you which it is. Page yields are the manufacturer's published figures measured to ISO 19752 for mono toner, ISO 19798 for colour toner and ISO 24711 for inkjet, all at five per cent coverage of an A4 page. Five per cent is about a short letter. If you print dense reports, graphics or photographs you will get materially fewer pages, and the honest way to compare two cartridges is the cost per page at the same standard rather than the price on the box. Compatible and remanufactured cartridges do not void your printer warranty in the UK. Under the Consumer Rights Act a manufacturer cannot refuse a warranty repair simply because you used a third party consumable; they would have to show that the consumable caused the fault. If a cartridge from us does damage a printer we will pay for the repair, and we say that in writing. Remanufacturing a cartridge uses a fraction of the material and energy of making a new one, so please pass your empties to a cartridge recycling scheme rather than putting them in landfill.
Which option to buy
Genuine is the manufacturer's own cartridge in its own box. The safe choice for a machine under warranty or on a lease, and the dearest per page. OEM Equivalent is a new compatible cartridge built to the same specification by an independent maker, never refilled, typically 45 to 60 per cent cheaper per page. We sell genuine, new compatible and remanufactured consumables side by side and publish the page yield and the cost per page for each one, so the comparison is on the number that actually decides the bill. Nothing here is a refill kit and nothing is sold without a yield figure.
